One of Kia’s most popular models is the KiaOptima sedan. We are going to tell you a bit about its history to help you learn more about this great car. The Optima was first introduced in 2001 with a wide range of trim options and other features, including two available engines.
Just a year later, the 2002 model offered larger 15-inch wheels, an upgraded V6 engine, keyless entry, and some new trim levels. In 2003, the manual transmission was discontinued, and the Optima got some updated styling on its body.
The Optima continued to add more premium options, including a standard V6 engine in 2004, adding available leather upholstery in 2005, an improved four-cylinder engine in 2006, and a redesigned interior for 2007.
For the 2008 model year, the Optima continued with no changes. However, in 2009, the Optima was available with new trim levels, even larger 17-inch wheels, and a more powerful 164-horsepower V6 engine. Remote start was added as a standard feature to all models in 2010.
The second-generation Optima made its debut in 2011 with new styling and technology inside and out. Kia added the available UVO voice control system in 2012, along with redesigned front seats. In 2014, Kia upgraded the Optima’s safety with features like blind spot monitoring a rear parking sensors.
The current generation of the Kia Optima combines all of the best aspects from its previous iterations. You can explore the latest Optima here at Crown Kia of Longview.
